INCULCATING CORPORATE SPIRITUALITY IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR

SERDANG, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- The Putra Senior Management and Leadership Programme: Enhancing Corporate Spiritualities in the Public Sector was organized for 30 diplomatic administration officers by Putra Business School (PBS) at their premises from July 20 to July 24, 2020.
The inaugural programme featured an impressive line-up of speakers which included Bank Rakyat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dato’ Rosman Mohamed, Board of Directors Chairman of the Advanced Air Traffic Systems (M) Sdn. Bhd. Dato’ Zolkipli Abdul, Board of Director of the Advanced Air Traffic Systems (M) Sdn. Bhd. Dato’ Zakri Afandi Ismail, CEO of Cita Kapital Sdn. Bhd. Mr Muhamad Yazdi Che Ya, Group Managing Director, Kumpulan Karangkraf Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Hussamuddin Yaacub, Deputy Director-General of Public Service (Development) of the Public Service Department Malaysia, Dato’ Hj. Suhaime Mahbar, seasoned public service officer Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, renowned academician Prof. Datin Paduka Setia Dato’ Dr Aini Ideris, former senior government officer of the Ministry of Higher Education who is currently PBS Head of Operations Dato’ Dr. Mohd Padzil Hashim and former senior government officer who is currently PBS academician Prof. Datuk Dr. John Antony Xavier.
PBS President & Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Dr. Zulkornain Yusop, revealed in his welcoming speech that the programme was also to promote human governance, which is the PBS founding philosophy.
Dato’ Rosman Mohamed in his session entitled Inculcating Corporate Spirituality Values in the Workplace stressed on the importance of one embracing good corporate values, with instances from his own life and career experiences.
Differences between the types of governance and philosophies were highlighted in Global Governance Issues In Private And Public Sectors by Dato’ Zulkopli Abdul, Dato’ Zakri Afandi and Mr Muhamad Yazdi Che Ya. “Corporate Governance is supposed to provide guidance. It should not restrict business,” Said Dato’ Zakri Afandi in the session.
Dato’ Hussamuddin led an Expert Sharing Session On Authentic Leadership, where he expounded on the core qualities of leadership. Reflections On Ethics For the Public Servant saw Dato’ Hj. Suhaime discussing the significance of ethics in public service.
Participants responded that they felt inspired after the programme and believed that it was truly one-of-a-kind personal development programme among others.
