Rakuten Fintech Vietnam Relocates To New, Expanded Office
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Rakuten Fintech Vietnam Co Ltd, a systems development subsidiary of Rakuten Card Co Ltd has relocated to a new location in Ho Chi Minh City as of Nov 13 to enable the company to further increase personnel and expand business operations, in response to growing systems development work.
“Our team in Vietnam has grown tremendously since launching in 2021, thanks to the invaluable support of local tech talent and the surrounding community.
“With more than 29 million cards issued, Rakuten Card is an industry leader in Japan. From our new position in Ho Chi Minh City, we are eager to further enhance Rakuten Card’s success and contribute to Rakuten’s leading fintech businesses,” said its General Director, Takao Shiono in a statement.
The new office is situated in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, conveniently located on the upper floors of a 26-storey building overseeing the city. With a capacity for approximately 200 employees and conference rooms, huddle spaces and booths available, the new office provides an ideal environment for colleagues to collaborate on projects.
In addition, a cafeteria and refreshment area offer a place for employees to relax, while also doubling as large meeting spaces.
Rakuten Card established Rakuten Fintech Vietnam as a development centre in October 2021 with the goal of driving sustainable growth, accelerating systems development for its expanding service lineup and supporting business continuity planning for the information technology (IT) systems that form the foundation of Rakuten Card’s services.
Since its establishment, Rakuten Fintech Vietnam has hired local IT engineering talent to develop services for consumer-facing apps, as well as systems for affiliate stores and business automation tools for boosting operational efficiency.
Rakuten Card will continue to strengthen its organisational capabilities and secure the best in global talent, while enhancing its credit card services and lineup of features to make financial services more convenient and more accessible to customers.
